Today disruption is a part of our daily business vocabulary. We're all aware of it, and yet many of us still struggle to cope with fast-paced change. How do we take control of our future? What can we do to stop chasing and start attracting--Magnitiizing--the life we want?

In his bestselling What's Your Moonshot?, global speaker and trend specialist John Sanei explained how the world is changing exponentially. In his follow-up, Magnitiize, he challenges business leaders, employees, and individuals to become future-ready, asking a selection of thought-provoking questions along the way. Is your organisation profit-led or purpose-led? Are you building a fast-paced, flash-in-the-quarterly-profit-balance-sheet-pan or an elegant legacy? Are you a bystander of disruption or a creator of the future? Are you running away from the darkness or towards the light? How can you find your purpose and build a life in which you attract to you the future of your own making?

In answering these and other questions, John explains how to inspire the best people to work with you; how to build an army of super fans(not just clients and consumers); how to build a culture that creates disruption itself (rather than being disrupted); and, ultimately, how to rethink the world we live in. It's time to reevaluate the concept and measures of success. It's time to stop chasing life, and to 'magnetize' the life you want.

Many things have changed over the past couple of centuries. You don't have to be born wealthy to be successful. And you can amass unimaginable wealth in a single lifetime. Most people just don't know how . . .

You are very likely already an entrepreneur. Or, if not yet, you long to be one. You want to start your own business - a business where you are the boss.

Daniel Strauss, the Strauss in the investment firm Stocks & Strauss, is his own boss - and a highly successful venture capitalist. But this has not always been the case. Growing up, Daniel was convinced that the rich must be smarter than others, or have special skills or insights.

A chance meeting with a billionaire entrepreneur led him to realise that the wealthy are 'normal people' just like him - the difference being that those who have gone from penniless to rich know how to Think Above the Line. They have the mindset of a billionaire.

In The Billionaire Mindset, Daniel explains what this means and how to adopt this life-changing mindset yourself. He shares his secrets of success, including how to access capital, where to find the right people to help you reach your goals, and how to free your mind from self-imposed limitations, so that you can also think like - and eventually become - a billionaire.

Jy is waarskynlik reeds 'n entrepreneur.

Recession, inflation, interest rates, income tax, exchange rates, junk bonds … We are bombarded with these terms every day, but what do they actually mean? And how do they affect you?
In this updated edition of Everyone's Guide to the South African Economy, all these issues - and more - are addressed. The book clearly explains and evaluates a wide range of economic occurrences - from the budget and the rand/dollar exchange rate to the balance of payments and the role of the South African Reserve Bank.

The book investigates the causes and consequences of the 2008/2009 global financial and economic crisis, looks at the sub-Saharan African economy, and explores human development issues in South Africa and their implications for policy-making.

If you are baffled by the specialised jargon of economists and bankers and want to know more about the economic forces that subtly dictate your day-to-day existence, Everyone's Guide to the South African Economy will put you in the picture. This is essential reading for every South African consumer and taxpayer. Economics, after all, is too important to be left to economists.

Organisations affect all aspects of human existence. They operate under immense pressure to offer their goods and services efficiently, economically and at the right time, all within the confines of the domestic and international laws which govern their trading. To meet these challenges in today's ever-changing global environment, the dealings within and between organisations need to be constantly monitored. Organisational analysis and intergovernmental relations: a South African perspective discusses how organisations work, how to conduct organisational analysis and how organisations can benefit from the advantages of intergovernmental relations in order to maximise productivity, effectiveness and profitability. Organisational analysis and intergovernmental relations: a South African perspective provides an overview of organisations, and the organisational design and structures applicable to both the private and public sectors. It equips managers with the knowledge to analyse the status of their organisations and decide what approaches to employ in responding to change (whether planned or unplanned). The book also explores how the relations between the spheres of government are affected by the shifting political environment in South Africa.

Macroeconomics is concerned with the economy as a whole. In macroeconomics, we develop an overall view of the economic system and we study total (or aggregate) economic behaviour. The emphasis is on topics such as total production, income and expenditure, economic growth, aggregate unemployment, the general price level, inflation and the balance of payments. Macroeconomics is therefore the world of totals.

This second edition of Understanding macroeconomics is a comprehensive revision and restructuring of the first edition, but still against a contemporary South African background. The major changes include the following: the chapter on money has been expanded and moved forward, and the material on the Keynesian model has been consolidated in two separate chapters, instead of being spread over different chapters. There is also a greater emphasis on the role of monetary and fiscal policy.

New topics include the role of the ratings agencies and the notion of “radical economic transformation”. As in the first edition, the easy style and practical examples make the content extremely accessible. A wealth of relevant information about the South African economy is also provided.

A companion to this book, Understanding microeconomics, is also available.

Heyneke Meyer was still at primary school when he told a teacher that he would one day become the Springbok head coach. Rather than encouraging the youngster, he was told this was a pipedream.
This discouragement continued at university, but against advice to the contrary, he studied sports management, education, and, “just about everything I believed was necessary for me to realise my ultimate goal of coaching my country. When my time came, and it would, I had to be ready. But few people believed in me.”
Unknowingly, his coaching career would evolve along seven key principles of leadership, and these would only become apparent to him after experiencing the ebbs and flows of what is an extremely uncertain career choice.
In 1999, in his first “major” coaching job, he led the minnow SWD Eagles-side to their first Currie Cup Play-offs. In the same year, Nick Mallet appointed him as the Springboks' forwards coach. He was 32 years old, and his dream was taking shape.
But by the time he turned 34, Meyer had twice been fired as the head coach of a Super Rugby side. However, with the support of only a handful of rugby administrators, he would not only go on the turn the struggling Blue Bulls around, winning four Currie Cups in five years, but he also became the first coach to lead a South African Super Rugby side victory in 2007; the first of three titles in four years.
In Pretoria, Meyer built a dynasty, making the Bulls the envy of just about every other major rugby club and franchise in the world.
He was appointed Springbok head coach in 2012. This was his dream, but not yet the end goal. It was merely a departure. On this journey, he would experience incredible highs, but also lows. All the while, his belief in his now established seven principles of leadership remained.

'My hope is that people can grow to appreciate this sector - its challenges and opportunities, but most importantly, the role agriculture can play in improving South Africa's rural economy, creating jobs and bringing about much-needed transformation (or inclusive growth).'
Wandile Sihlobo is perfectly positioned to provide a well-rounded, accessible view of agriculture in South Africa. He spent his school holidays in the rural Eastern Cape, studied agricultural economics at university, has worked in private-sector agriculture, consulting with farmers across the country, and has been an adviser to government as part of South African policymaking bodies.

Finding Common Ground is a selection of key articles from Sihlobo's regular Business Day column, framed with insightful commentary and context. The book covers the broad themes that have marked current discussions and outlines the challenges and opportunities faced by South Africa's agricultural sector, including:

The contentious and complex issue of land reform;
The potential for new leadership to revive the sector;
How agriculture can drive development and job creation;
Cannabis as an exportable commodity;
The urgent need for agricultural policy to address gender equity and youth involvement;
Technological developments and megatrends that are underpinning agricultural development;
The importance of trade in growing South Africa's agriculture; and Key lessons that South Africa and other African countries can learn from one another.

Ultimately, Sihlobo is optimistic about the future of South Africa's agricultural sector and shows us all - from policymakers to the general public - how much common ground we truly have.

From the #1 New York Times bestselling authors of Extreme Ownership comes a new and revolutionary approach to help leaders recognize and attain the leadership balance crucial to victory.
With their first book, Extreme Ownership (published in October 2015), Jocko Willink and Leif Babin set a new standard for leadership, challenging readers to become better leaders, better followers, and better people, in both their professional and personal lives. Now, in THE DICHOTOMY OF LEADERSHIP, Jocko and Leif dive even deeper into the unchartered and complex waters of a concept first introduced in Extreme Ownership: finding balance between the opposing forces that pull every leader in different directions. Here, Willink and Babin get granular into the nuances that every successful leader must navigate.

Mastering the Dichotomy of Leadership requires understanding when to lead and when to follow; when to aggressively maneuver and when to pause and let things develop; when to detach and let the team run and when to dive into the details and micromanage. In addition, every leader must:

· Take Extreme Ownership of everything that impacts their mission, yet utilize Decentralize Command by giving ownership to their team.

· Care deeply about their people and their individual success and livelihoods, yet look out for the good of the overall team and above all accomplish the strategic mission.

· Exhibit the most important quality in a leader―humility, but also be willing to speak up and push back against questionable decisions that could hurt the team and the mission.

With examples from the authors' combat and training experiences in the SEAL teams, and then a demonstration of how each lesson applies to the business world, Willink and Babin clearly explain THE DICHOTOMY OF LEADERSHIP―skills that are mission-critical for any leader and any team to achieve their ultimate goal: VICTORY.

In Our Iceberg is Melting a simple fable about penguins illustrates how to conquer change, with profound lessons for working and living in an ever-changing world. This charming story about a penguin colony in Antarctica illustrates key truths about how we deal with the issue of change: handle the challenge well and you can prosper greatly; handle it poorly and you put yourself at risk. The penguins are living happily on their iceberg as they have done for many years. Then one curious penguin discovers a potentially devastating problem threatening their home - and pretty much no one listens to him. The characters in this fable are like people we recognize, even ourselves. Their story is one of resistance to change and heroic action, confusion and insight, seemingly intractable obstacles and the most clever tactics for dealing with those obstacles. It is a story that is occuring in different forms around us today - but the penguins handle change a great deal better than most of us. Based on John Kotter's pioneering work on how to make smart change happen faster and better, the lessons you can learn from this short and easy-to-read book will serve you well in your job, in your family and in your community. And these lessons are becoming ever more important as the world around us changes faster and faster. This edition celebrates ten years since the publication of this classic business fable with new and improved illustrations and a foreword by Spencer Johnson, author of Who Moved My Cheese?
