Building on the success of her two previous books, and in support of her TV series, 'Sarah Graham's Food Safari', Home. Food from my Kitchen encapsulates cooking throughout southern Africa. Within the standard cookbook format of Brunch, Salads, Soups, Snacks, Meat, Poultry, Pasta, Seafood, Desserts and Baking, she presents food that is simple but beautiful, delicious and healthy. Most of the dishes can be prepared as easily outdoors as in your kitchen, and the recipes will work for family meals as well as casual dining with friends. The blog-themed writing style engages readers, while stories and personal anecdotes offer some insight into the inspiration behind the recipes. Traditional South African favourites are given a modern makeover and readers are introduced to some less-familiar dishes from Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique. Sarah loves to use her friends and family around the world as testers and tasters, so hesitant cooks can be assured that all her recipes really do work!

This book is a commemoration of our mothers' hearty culinary skills. Each dish has been tried and tested over many moons and lovingly passed down from one generation of caregivers to the next. It conjurs up images of families sitting around comfortable kitchen tables - talking, sharing and caring, with the little ones eavesdropping and forcing themselves awake, too afraid of missing out on any of the elders' fascinating stories. As our demanding modern lives rush by at breakneck speed and Corona becomes an everyday word, Clover Mama Afrika invites you to let time stand still for a while. We want to tempt you to reconnect with soulful, traditional cooking, the way our mothers and grandmothers used to. I Cook, Because We Eat serves 56 nourishing recipes, each exquisitely displayed in full colour.

Expect a personal voice, mouthwatering visuals, useful insider tips, a specialist chapter on baking and an abundance of no-nonsense, approachable recipes that celebrate fresh, local ingredients.

From sun up to sun down and beyond, chef Liezie Mulder takes us through a day in the life of her iconic Knysna restaurant, île de paÏn. For every time of day, and every craving in between, there is a meal to nourish, delight, energise and celebrate the craft of good cooking. For Liezie, all the world's a feast - her dishes are inspired by places she's travelled to, her childhood and family heritage, whether it's Bali or Israel or America and beyond. She tells the stories and meticulously guides us through making a range of recipes that, most importantly, always respect the ingredients.

About the Author
Liezie Mulder is the co-owner and head chef of Knysna's popular café and artisan bakery, île de païn. Liezie trained as a chef in the US, working under inspirational chefs in esteemed kitchens. It was here she met her life and business partner, master baker Markus Färbinger. Together, Liezie and Markus started île de païn on a wing and a prayer when they returned to Knysna in 2002. Local whispers soon spread about a small café on Thesen Islands offering the authentic coffee, croissants and sandwiches. île de païn has grown up and expanded, but stayed close to its roots. Liezie wrote her first recipe book “Café Food” in 2009 in a desire to share her passion for food and illustrate that marvelous dishes can be made at home by anyone.

Grandmothers from eight eastern African countries welcome you into their kitchens to share flavorful recipes and stories of family, love, and tradition in this transporting cookbook-meets-travelogue.

In this incredible volume, renowned food writer Julia Turshen and Somali chef Hawa Hassan present 75 recipes and stories gathered from bibis (or grandmothers) from eight African nations: South Africa, Mozambique, Madagascar, Comoros, Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, and Eritrea. Most notably, these eight countries are at the backbone of the spice trade, many of them exporters of things like pepper and vanilla. We meet women such as Ma Shara, who helps tourists 'see the real Zanzibar' by teaching them how to make her famous Ajemi Bread with Carrots and Green Pepper; Ma Vicky, a real-life princess from Tanzania, who now lives in suburban New York and makes a mean Matoke (Stewed Plantains with Beans and Beef); and Ma Gehennet from Eritrea who shares her recipes for Kicha (Eritrean Flatbread) and Shiro (Ground Chickpea Stew).

Through Julia and Hawa's writing--and their own personal stories--the women, and the stories behind the recipes, come to life. With evocative photography shot on location by Khadija Farah, and food photography by Jennifer May, In Bibi's Kitchen uses food to teach us all about families, war, loss, migration, refuge, and sanctuary.

Winner of the Observer Food Monthly Cookbook of the Year 2013.
Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi are the men behind the bestselling Ottolenghi: The Cookbook. Their chain of restaurants is famous for its innovative flavours, stylish design and superb cooking.

At the heart of Yotam and Sami's food is a shared home city: Jerusalem. Both were born there in the same year, Sami on the Arab east side and Yotam in the Jewish west. Nearly 30 years later they met in London, and discovered they shared a language, a history, and a love of great food.

Jerusalem sets 100 of Yotam and Sami's inspired, accessible recipes within the cultural and religious melting pot of this diverse city. With culinary influences coming from its Muslim, Jewish, Arab, Christian and Armenian communities and with a Mediterranean climate, the range of ingredients and styles is stunning. From recipes for soups (spicy frikkeh soup with meatballs), meat and fish (chicken with caramelized onion and cardamom rice, sea bream with harissa and rose), vegetables and salads (spicy beetroot, leek and walnut salad), pulses and grains (saffron rice with barberries and pistachios), to cakes and desserts (clementine and almond syrup cake), there is something new for everyone to discover.

Packed with beautiful recipes and with gorgeous photography throughout, Jerusalem showcases sumptuous Ottolenghi dishes in a dazzling setting.

Johanne 14 explores the secrets of simple, home-cooked meals in South Africa's townships. Told through the eyes of award-winning food writer Hope Malau, the book features authentic, traditional dishes cooked with love, and acknowledges the ability of countless unsung kitchen heroes - the mothers, fathers, grandparents and siblings - to make culinary magic with often very little. It is a vital glimpse into South African township life; moreover, it is a celebration of culture, resilience, human spirit, community and family - through the shared meal.

A head of cabbage can be cooked in so many different ways; it is inexpensive and goes with anything or nothing at all. You can eat it raw, boil it or fry it, combine it with any other vegetable and it will give you a wholesome meal every time. Hence it was dubbed Johanne 14 - if you have cabbage you should not let your heart be troubled.
