Sol y vida is Elīna Garanča'sjourney to the South, from Spain to Italy and Latin America, and is her first album focusing entirely on non core-classical repertoire.

Diana Damrau and Jonas Kaufmann, reigning stars of opera, are also consummate interpreters of song. In early 2018, with master pianist Helmut Deutsch, they performed Hugo Wolf's multi-faceted Italienisches Liederbuch in 12 cities around Europe. “One couldn't ask for more,” wrote the Telegraph after their London concert, which took place two days before this live recording was made in the German city of Essen.

Miroirs is the debut album from the young French-Danish soprano Elsa Dreisig. The winner of Plácido Domingo's Operalia singing competition in 2016, she has performed opera in Berlin, Paris, Zurich and Aix-en-Provence and sung with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic in Berlin, Salzburg, Lucerne and Paris.

Miroirs showcases her vocal and dramatic range with different 'reflections' on a situation or character in arias and scenes from operas by Gounod, Massenet, Rossini, Mozart, Puccini, Richard Strauss and the rarely-heard Daniel Steibelt. The album includes two world premiere recordings.

The Summer Night Concert of The Vienna Philharmonic is the world's biggest annual classical open-air concert set in the magical Schönbrunn Palace Baroque park in Vienna. The concert will take place on 31 May 2018 and its theme for this year is 'An Italian Night'. The concert is broadcast on TV and radio in more than 60 countries, and thus reaches an audience of millions. The evening's repertoire is an attractive combination of extremely popular works for orchestra including the William Tell Overture, the March from the opera Aida and the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, as well as famous Soprano arias like Vissi d'arte, vissi d'amore from the Opera Tosca. Valery Gergiev returns to conducts the Summer Night Concert and is joined by star Soprano Anna Netrebko in what promises to be one of the most popular concerts this year!

The two-time ECHO Klassik winner Nuria Rial is not only one of the most important sopranos of early music, but has thrilled with her velvet and expressive voice also with compositions of the 20th and 21st century. For this recording she has teamed up with the 8 cellists of the Sinfonieorchester Basel.

At the center: Astor Piazzolla's famous cycle “Las Cuatro Estaciones Portenas” (The Four Seasons of the Port, meaning that of Buenos Aires), but also one of Heitor Villa-Lobos' Bach homages “Bachianas Brasileiras”, where the recorded elegiac No. 5 belongs to the most popular compositions of the Brazilian. From the Catalan home of Nuria Rial there is the legendary folk song “El Cant dels ocells” (The song of the birds). Legendary, as cellist Pablo Casals always ended his concerts with this song in exile (after the Spanish Civil War in 1936).

Another highlight is the world premiere recording of “Vocal Ice”, an impressive work by Spanish composer Bernat Vivancos.

Two unforgettable evenings showcase the artistry of Renée Fleming alongside Christian Thielemann's mastery of the Austro-German Romantic idiom. The Salzburg Festival honours one of its founding fathers, Richard Strauss, and the Staatskapelle Dresden draws on the deep well of its living Bruckner tradition. The mixed vocal and symphonic programmes feature five lieder by the prolific songsmith Hugo Wolf in addition to four of Strauss's finest, and an opera scene featuring Fleming in one of her career-defining roles, Arabella. At Dresden's Semperoper, the Staatskapelle's then newly appointed music director leads them in Bruckner's lyric Seventh in which the composer mourns the death of Wagner, whereas in Salzburg, Thielemann helms the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for the spectacular mountain journey of Strauss's titanic Alpine Symphony.

South African soprano Pretty Yende lives her Cinderella story in her brand new album, 'Dreams'.

Dreams is the theme of Pretty Yende's second album with signature pieces from the bel canto repertoire including 'Je veux vivre' from Gounod's Roméo et Juliet and Lucia's mad scene. Pretty Yende not only slips into the various dreams of young opera heroines but also pays homage to her own dream-come-true, becoming one of today's most celebrated sopranos. Pretty's debut album, 'A Journey' gained sensational media attention worldwide with appearances on the biggest TV shows in the US and France in addition to receiving the 2017 International Opera Award for Best Recording - Solo Recital.
